Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at MontroseDPC@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Direct Primary Care (DPC) is a membership-based model where you pay a simple monthly fee instead of using insurance for your primary care. You get direct access to your provider, longer visits, transparent pricing, and no surprise bills. It’s modern medicine with an old-school relationship.

Traditional clinics bill insurance for every visit, test, and procedure—and must see huge patient panels to stay afloat. DPC eliminates insurance billing entirely. That means:

  • Same-day or next-day visits

  • Longer appointments

  • Direct messaging with your provider

  • Transparent prices

  • No copays or deductibles

  • A smaller patient panel with more personalized care

No. DPC works outside of insurance to keep prices transparent and care accessible.
However, your insurance can still be used for:

  • Specialist visits

  • ER/hospital care

  • Imaging

  • Medications

  • Labs (if you prefer using insurance over our discounted pricing)

Most members pair their DPC membership with a high-deductible or catastrophic plan.

Most people save money because Direct Primary Care removes the middlemen. At MDPC, you’re paying for care, not insurance billing.

This allows us to offer:

  • Unlimited visits without copays

  • No surprise bills

  • Discounted labs (usually 70–90% less than insurance pricing)

  • Discounted medications through wholesale pricing

  • Less need for urgent care and ER visits

  • More preventative care, which means fewer expensive problems later

  • No billing codes, facility fees, or administrative charges

When you combine all of that with better access to your clinician, most patients find their total yearly healthcare spending goes down, even if they keep insurance for catastrophic coverage.

A typical insured patient might pay:

  • $150 urgent care visit

  • $250 ER bill for simple issues

  • $80+ per basic lab panel

  • $20–50 copays per visit

  • $20–50/month in medication markups

  • $150–300 in imaging deductibles

At MDPC, those same things often cost:

  • $0 for the visit

  • $0 for texting your clinician

  • $4–15 for common medications

  • $8–25 for lab panels

  • $0 for follow-ups

  • $0 for same/next-day access

Most members save more than the cost of membership just by avoiding urgent care and inflated lab fees. This makes the savings real, not abstract.

As a regular member of MDPC, you have the benefit of annual labs. You will receive a CBC with differential, Comprehensive metabolic panel, TSH, Hemoglobin A1c, and a Lipid panel. We offer a myriad of labs outside of those included that are available for a fraction of the cost of traditional labs through your insurance.

Yes. As of January 1, 2026, Direct Primary Care memberships are officially recognized as a qualified medical expense. That means you can use HSA or FSA funds—up to $150 monthly for individuals or $300 for families—to pay for your Montrose DPC membership. Employees with high-deductible plans can now combine DPC + HSA for better access, lower out-of-pocket costs, and more predictable healthcare spending.

Yes. However, Medicare cannot be billed. Members pay the monthly DPC fee, and Medicare continues to cover everything else (specialists, imaging, hospital care). You simply use the clinic for your primary care needs.

No. At this time, MDPC is only seeing adults, 18+.

You keep your insurance for those services. We help with:

  • Preparing your referral

  • Sending records

  • Coordinating care

  • Following up afterward

DPC enhances—not replaces—your insurance.

Typical insurance-based clinics have 2,000–3,000 patients per provider.

Montrose DPC caps around 500 to allow for:

  • Unhurried appointments

  • Personal communication

  • Fast access

  • Strong relationships

This is what primary care used to be—and what it should be again.

Yes. Small businesses in Montrose can enroll employees for:

  • Affordable primary care

  • Same-day access

  • Reduced downtime

  • Predictable monthly costs

  • No surprise medical bills

  • Optional add-on labs and physicals

Small businesses love DPC because it dramatically lowers overall healthcare spending.

One of the benefits of Montrose Direct Primary Care is having direct access when something urgent comes up. If you have an urgent or time-sensitive concern after hours, you can reach out to me, and I’ll respond as soon as I’m able. If a message comes in overnight while I’m asleep, I’ll check it first thing in the morning so you’re not left waiting.

For routine or non-urgent questions, I’ll follow up during regular clinic hours so you always receive thoughtful, unrushed care.

If you’re experiencing an emergent issue—or if you reach out and don’t hear back within a timeframe that feels safe for your situation—I expect you to seek appropriate care right away at the nearest urgent care or emergency department. Your safety always comes first, and I never want you to delay care in a true emergency.

No. Colorado Medicaid rules do not allow Medicaid beneficiaries to enroll in a Direct Primary Care (DPC) membership, even if they want to pay privately. This is a statewide restriction, not a practice decision.

Peptide therapy uses targeted amino-acid chains to support healing, metabolism, inflammation control, cognition, and sexual wellness. While most peptides are not FDA-approved, MDPC sources all products from FDA-regulated, medical-grade pharmacies and provides them only as optional wellness treatments with no guaranteed outcomes. We create simple, personalized protocols and can have peptides shipped directly to your home.

  • Offered as injections, nasal sprays, or troches

  • Benefits often appear within weeks to months

  • Side effects are generally mild

  • Pricing varies by peptide
